133 – Gung ho, but like an FY0

No gastroenterologist seems interested in your plea for a scope until the patient is more stable. You decide you’ll have to do it yourself.

You get your equally gun-ho anesthetist friend to give midazolam to sedate the patient for the endoscope.

You pass the scope and are greeted with a bloody Niagra Falls.

Between the midazolam and the scope, the patient’s BP drops to 80, 70, 60…and then the patient no longer has an upper GI problem to worry about because they have died.
