“You want O negative blood? Usually in men we use O positive blood, as it does not matter if they get rhesus sensitized that much. Is that OK? And also, is it that urgent that you cannot wait 30-40 minutes? This patient has not had blood transfused before so it should be easy to electronically issue them.

“Tell you what, shall I just get four units ready?”

“Yes please.”

Meanwhile, the FY1 seems very pleased with administering vitamin K. However, the patient’s INR will remain elevated for 12-24 hours given how long it takes to work. But that’s OK because we have the right blood coming now and a scope to be done..right?

Things are OK. Your shift is ending, and you will sleep unsatisfied not knowing the outcome as too much time was taken on the CT request. Alas.
